    it is the trackpad for the electrovaya.

    Yes, definitely a touchpad. That looks sort of like a mini-USB plug at top, doesn’t it? That, plus the two buttons (and fingerwells) and the dark grey color of the large rectangle suggest that it’s a touchpad.
